A new retail identity concept for the Winx Club brand will be implemented in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The magic of Italy’s best-loved fairies continues to attract new fans, licensees and retail outlets around the world. And from today, Malaysia is set to host the Winx Club Trade Show! This exciting event will illustrate the huge range of opportunities connected to the Winx Club brand and also unveil the new and innovative Winx Club Brand Identity for Retail.
The new Winx Club Brand Identity for Retail is being implemented at Parkson Nu Sentral mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – the first location in Asia to host the concept. This represents a major step forward for the brand, adapting and strengthening the official colours for POS and other retail material. Formerly pink and white, the new fashion-led Winx Club style has inspired a palette that employs black and gold with a touch of pink to striking effect. Press and industry representatives will be invited to the unveiling in Kuala Lumpur.

Winx Club entered the marketplace in 2004 and immediately expanded across Europe. More recently it has enjoyed success in America and Latin America as well as in the vast Asian market through the TV series produced by Rainbow, a global leader in the production of children's animation, and a wide-ranging licensing programme.

A significant part of that success is due to the Winx Club fashion strategy. Fashion is key to Winx Club — the programme, the characters and the brand. More than 55 partners in apparel, footwear, underwear, socks and fashion accessories underline the appeal of the brand to major names like Benetton and Sisley Young. The Rainbow fashion strategy reflects the wide appeal of Winx by developing styles that have not only a mass-market appeal to kids and tweens but also a high-end couture strategy. It reflects a key marketing tool that has always characterised Winx: despite being fairies, they remain modern, are fashionable and, very importantly, live through the same situations and face the same problems as their many female fans.

The sixth Winx TV series launched last year, again in co-production with RAI and Nickelodeon, and again using the mix of 2D animation and CGI that has been so popular. Strong links to a digital platform will be supported by major partnerships with national and international digital players. There has also been a complete renovation of the Winx Club website ( — now translated into 10 languages with over a million faithful unique visitors and over 25 million page views per month.

All this activity shows that the fairies of Alfea never cease to demonstrate their ability to keep pace with the times and engage their fans of today and tomorrow with fresh new content.

Ms Joanne Lee, CEO of Rainbow International, says: “The strength of the Winx Club brand at retail is a reflection of the TV show’s position as a worldwide phenomenon. The Winx Club show and brand have had a great reception in Asia so the Trade Show will be a valuable resource for new and potential partners, whilst Malaysia is an ideal place to unveil the new Winx Club Brand Identity for Retail.”
